A lot of people by now will have heard of Younique and their Fiberlash Mascara. If you are like me, I lose track with all these new distributor companies and tend to tune out when someone talks to me about the opportunities and products. I basically told myself that I would not be trying the ever famous mascara as I thought it was probably just another thing that didn’t really work or was no better than what was already available. So yes, I did make assumptions before trying it and I did form an opinion on it without actually knowing what the product was like, when in reality I was actually missing out.
I don’t currently wear false eyelashes but do wear mascara and although my lashes are of an average length and thickness they are quite fair and so need good mascara to make them look more full and long. I was offered the chance to try Younique’s Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes + Mascara from a company called Facepaint Live. I thought to myself, why not give it a try, if it doesn’t work you are no worse off. So I agreed to give the product a go and was told it could take a bit of practice to perfect. I must have been a natural as after just one attempt I felt I had mastered the art of applying it. Facepaint Live sell the full range of Younique products and all of the products are organic and gluten-free, which is obviously great!
The mascara came in very nice packaging which I was pretty pleased with and a little black drawstring bag to keep everything in. Perfect for keeping the different bits together in your handbag. The Mascara has two parts to it, Transplanting gel and Fibers, they both are separate and look just like normal mascaras. They both also fit perfectly in the black bag that came with it. To apply the Fiberlash Mascara you first use the Transplanting gel which is clear and then quickly and carefully apply the Fibers to the lashes with the brush. You then add another layer of the Transplanting Gel over the top to seal the Fibers in place. It can be difficult at first to work out how much of the Fibers to apply, however you don’t want to add too much as it will look clumpy and the fibers could fall down in to your eye whilst blinking.
I found it very easy to use and you could instantly see the difference. My lashes did look so much longer and thicker. It gave a false lash effect and they really stood out, I was actually pretty impressed! I did however find that it was more something I would wear on occasions rather than as an every day thing, as I personally, like to have a more natural look during the day. I did feel I benefitted from using a little eyebrow/lash brush I already had to just give it a brush through once all dry, just to take off any loose Fibers and to separate any lashes stuck together. I think thats what made it look a lot more natural and got rid of any clumpiness. It is important whilst applying the mascara to tilt your head slightly down so that you don’t get fibers in your eye (ouch) which I found out the hard way! But once I realised that I needed to tilt my head it was a breeze! You can see my results below!
So I am definitely eating my words now and I would definitely recommed it to others. Especially to anyone lacking in the long, luscious lashes department! As you can see from the photos above, the mascara really worked and it doesn’t look clumpy at all. I do feel I could have maybe even added a little more but I think for my first go pretty much perfected it. It lasted the entire day and apart from the odd fiber falling down, i didn’t budge much at all. I will be using this on my next date night and any other occasion I have to get dressed up for! The mascara isn’t too expensive either at only £23, It’s cheaper than paying for semi-permanent lashes which can cost up to £80 depending on the ones you go for! So I think it is a really reasonable price considering it actually makes a huge difference to your lashes! So ladies, if you were on the fence about trying it like me, then I urge you to give it a go!
